When you updated, you may have changed your SSL software. Up to now your SSL software ignored that since it was signed by a trusted CA. My best guess, and thats all it is, is that the site had a security certificate with a minor error in it for a good while. The name on the security certificate is not valid or does not match the name of the site. The security certificate is from a trusted certifying authority. However there is a problem with this site's security certificate. Information exchanged with this site cannot be viewed or changed by others. I found a usenet message where a Opera user connected to the same site where a Mozilla user had gotten the same -8182 error you did. SEC_ERROR_BAD_SIGNATURE Peer's certificate has an invalid signature. Mozilla's documentation documents that security error code as : It means just what it says - there is something wrong with the certificate on the server side. You can get the exact same error message when making a SSL connection using a browser to a site which has a invalid or corrupt certificate. I would appreciate greatly any helpful ideas!
